Pakistan- Peshawar Police foil attempt to smuggle weapon to Punjab


(MENAFN- Tribal News Network) PESHAWAR: Peshawar police on Saturday foiled an attempt to smuggle small and heavy weapons worth millions of rupees during raids in various areas of the district.

Superintendent of Police, Saddar circle, Shaukat Khan said that the weapons were seized during search operations in Saifan, Kohat Road and Badhber localities.

He added that the weapons were concealed in secrete cavities of a water tanker and a truck that was being smuggled to Punjab.

The seized weapons include 250 Kalashnikovs, 121 rifles, 200 pistols, 11 guns and more than 100,000 bullets.

The police arrested seven suspects while search for main culprit was underway.
