Oman- Gulf College organises graduation ceremony for 731 students

(MENAFN- Muscat Daily) Muscat- On Wednesday, 731 candidates graduated with BA/BSc (Hons) and Diploma in Higher Education on the prestigious occasion of Gulf College's 12th and 13th graduation ceremony.
The graduation ceremony for the 12th batch of 378 graduates was conducted under the patronage of H H Sayyid Fatk bin Fahr bin Taimor al Said, Secretary-General of the Ministry of Heritage and Culture, while the 13th graduation ceremony comprising 353 candidates happened under the patronage of H E sheikh Khalid bin Hilal bin Nasser al Maawali, chairman of the Shura Council. The ceremony was attended by prof Leuan Ellis, pro-vice chancellor (Partnerships & Region) of Staffordshire University.
Accompanying him were excellencies and sheikhs, Dr Issa bin Sabeel al Balushi, chairman of the Board of Directors and vice-chair of Board of Trustees of the college, prof Taqi al Abduwani, dean, members of the college's administrative and academic bodies and graduates and their families.
All programmes were delivered in academic affiliation with Staffordshire University. Hence, the degrees were awarded by Staffordshire University.
The ceremony began with the recitation of verses from the Q'uran by Murshid bin Ibrahim al Riyami. This was followed by a welcome speech by Dr Bulushi. He said, 'This is a special and memorable event in the history of Gulf College as it celebrates the graduation of its 12th and 13th batch of graduates. I thank God for blessing us with this peaceful country that provides us with an environment conducive to progress in all fields, science, technology, business and, most of all, education.
'Keeping in line with the national priority to educate the population, Gulf College has affiliated with foreign universities to serve the society. Today is a joyous day when Gulf College is happy to award its graduates their well-earned degrees and diplomas.'
