Capitan Nugget Releases FitIf Power Meter

(MENAFNEditorial) The Fitif Power! smart phone application puts an accurate and reliable power meter at your fingertips affordably, through a one-off payment and with the possibility to try it continuously in 5 minute sessions. Now available worldwide having been on soft-launch in Spain and some Latin American countries, the truly significant aspect of this power meter for smart phones is its data consistency.

As reliable and accurate as those for the crank or pedals, which generally cost more than 300 dollars and with a more than proven data consistency, Capitn Nugget has developed this application that estimates elevation power, acceleration power, aerodynamic power and friction power.

To use the Fitif Power! the GPS is absolutely necessary, so activate it, as it essentially works with geolocation. On the other hand, it works with a barometer/altimeter that was incorporated from version 6 and up of the device, so it is recommended for this device and previous versions. All of this shows that what it is and that it should only be used outdoors.

It is therefore recommended to use and connect a Bluetooth cadence sensor, as the data will be more accurate. You should also use a Bluetooth heart rate monitor, as knowing your heart rate is important when estimating power if you are cycling in a group and alone, to give a couple of examples, so it is important to take a heart rate monitor.

Once you have downloaded Fitif Power! you will have to configure several settings:

The surface on which you are going to cycle: Asphalt or hard track.
The type of bike: road, polyvalent or mountain.
The length of the crank: 16.5, 17, 17.25 and 17.7.
The type and pressure of the tyres: 2-4 bar, 5-7 bar and 7.0 bar and higher.
The type of pedal: clipless or toe clip.
The type of wheel: 700x18-25, 700x30-45, 26-29x1.35-2.0, 26-29x2.1-2.9.
Weights, yours, fully equipped, and the bikes, with everything you are going to put on it.
Considering all of the variables mentioned above Captain Nugget have developed their own algorithm to estimate the average power every 15 seconds, in the same way as market power meters work, which average at 3 and/or 10 and/or 15 seconds. Therefore it is not recommended to use Fitif Power! to obtain reliable data in series of one minute or less in duration.

Fitif Power! mobile application can be connected to cyclocomputers with Bluetooth as its communication protocol to show the data and information and therefore the mobile can be kept in any pocket.

Planned to be available on Android before the end of 2017, Capitn Nugget is also working to develop a piece of software that allows the Fitif Power! for iPhone to be compatible with Garmin bike computers, whose communication protocol is ANT+. Contact Information
