Rodrigo Duterte calls for Philippine police to return to drug war

(MENAFN)Philippine President Rodrigo Duterte has called on for a new deadly drug war, having twice demoted the police in response to criticism of the crackdown.

Human rights groups insist that what Duterte is doing is inhuman and he might be orchestrating a crime against humanity with his bloody anti-drugs campaign.

The fiery leader, however; has underestimated the efforts of the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) with 2,000 officers saying they were incapable of doing the job.

"Whether I like it or not, I have to return that power to the police." he stated in a speech on Wednesday night.
