(MENAFN- Muscat Daily) Muscat- The Institute of Public Administration celebrated the 40th anniversary of its establishment under the patronage of H E Dr Yahya bin Mahfoudh al Mantheri, chairman of the State Council at the Sheraton Oman Hotel on Sunday.
'The Institute of Public Administration has played an important and positive role in the administrative renaissance in the sultanate since 1977,' said H E Dr Mantheri.
H E Sheikh Khalid bin Omar bin Said al Marhoon, Minister of Civil Service and chairman of the Institute of Public Administration, said, 'The institute has contributed to the development of human resources in the administrative apparatus of the state during the 40 years of the Blessed Renaissance since its establishment in 1977. The institute formed the training arm of the government in developing and strengthening the capabilities of its employees.'
He added, 'This celebration is an occasion to thank all those who have worked at the institute over the past 40 years and all those who deal with the activities of the institute.
'Today, we are launching its new identity and building, which will play important and effective roles in the process of administrative development locally and in the Arab world. The institute is working according to its new strategic plan 2020.'
The ceremony included the launching of the institute's new identity and a film about its new building, which will be built in partnership with Muscat National Development & Investment. The building will be completed in 2020 and will accommodate 20,000 trainees annually. It will also include a three-star hotel with 285 rooms.
