Morocco- Rabat: Elderly Woman Hit by Falling Stones, Hospitalized


(MENAFN- Morocco World News) Rabat – A woman was hospitalized Friday morning after being hit by large stones which had fallen from Lycée Hassan II in Rabat.

At around 8 AM in Rabat, stones fell off the school's rooftop hitting and seriously injuring the unidentified woman, who witnesses said was in her sixties. Police and a forensic team rushed to the scene, and the woman was taken to the hospital.

When MWN arrived at the school at 8:30 AM, bystanders had gathered at the school's crumbling wall. A few large stones lay on the ground, next to a pool of blood.

Eyewitnesses told MWN that the woman had been hit in the head and was massively bleeding, with blood streaming her nose.

Two eyewitnesses expressed their fear the elderly woman might not live because the injury was so severe.

Some called for an action to be taken, so that pedestrians could be safe from falling stones.

A man told MWN that a caretaker should be assigned to maintain the building.
