Imagine travelling in an aircraft with a see-through aisle. While for some it may sound scary, for others, it will offer an unparalleled flying experience.

Dr Eng Awad Saeed Ali al Saadouni, founder of the Astronomical Observatory in Dhofar and inventor of the see-through aisle says, 'It will reflect the images captured by 4K cameras installed under the belly of an aircraft. The entire package will cost around US$1mn.'

Dr Eng Saadouni adds, 'Travellers will be able to see all that is happening outside. The cameras will be be connected via optical fibres to the screens inside.'

The screens will be connected through a control panel. 'Passengers will be able to see stunning landscape of the areas the aircraft will pass through.'

He says that the technology will take air travel onto a different level. 'Airlines are sure to get a boost as it is also a safe system to work with.'

Dr Eng Saadouni says that he is working on the marketing strategy and will soon be talking to aircraft manufacturers. 'I may have to make changes depending on the specifications.'

The innovator does not believe in keeping knowledge to himself. He wants to pass it down to the next generation. 'During the Salalah Tourism Festival, I conducted a workshop for school students on astronomy. It was a great experience as the students were very excited.'
