Qatar- QU student leadership forum on March 26

DOHA: Qatar University (QU) Student Affairs Sector has launched its upcoming student leadership conference ‘Taqadam: Tanmeea Enjaz Qiaadah’.

The conference on March 26 is being organised in conjunction with Hamad Bin Khalifa University (HBKU) Community College of Qatar (CCQ) College of the North Atlantic-Qatar (CNA-Q) University of Calgary in Qatar (UCQ) and Stenden University Qatar. It aims to leverage students’ participation in leadership training and prepare their transition into the workplace.

The conference will bring together around 400 students from colleges and universities in Qatar to discuss share knowledge and learn strategies on driving change developing leadership skills and solving problems in a local regional and global context officials told a press conference held to launch the conference.

Dr Khalid Al Khanji Vice-President Student Affairs Qatar University (QU); Dr Ken MacLeod President CNA-Q; Dr Abdulla Hazaimeh Dean CCQ; and Ameena Hussain Director Students Affairs HBKU gave details of the event which is the first of its kind in Qatar.

“It is a significant opportunity to help students from higher education institutions in Qatar develop communication and leadership skills and acquire the know-how to apply them in real-life situations.

“We look forward to the outcomes and recommendations that will emanate from discussions that will benefit students and smoothen their transition into the workplace” said Dr Al Khanji.

Keynote speaker renowned intellectual Dr Jassim Al Sultan will speak on ‘Tanmeea’. The conference agenda will comprise plenary sessions by beIN sportscaster and QU graduate Mohammed Al Kuwari and popular Aspire leadership training specialist Salah Al Yafei.

Participants will discuss issues related to ‘Enjaz and Qiaadah.’ The agenda also includes sessions in the form of professional workshops by Dr Abdulrahman Al Harami educational Consultant and Directing Editor Eyalna magazine; student presentations and poster sessions that will address a topics such as ‘Leadership and Self-Motivation’ and ‘Women and Leadership’.
