A European woman assaulted an Ajman police officer at a restaurant in Ajman with a "sharp knife", resulting in cuts to his hand. The bleeding officer was rushed to a city hospital, after which he moved to Rashid Hospital in Dubai for treatment and surgery.
A top official at Ajman Police said the injured officer had visited the restaurant after its staff called the police, complaining that the woman was creating a ruckus there. When the police patrol arrived at the restaurant, the accused attacked them and assaulted the officer.
The woman, who is believed to be from Eastern Europe, is now being interrogated by the police to ascertain the reason behind her hysteria at the restaurant.
