UAE- Meraas launches 20,000sqm Outlet Village for luxury brands

(MENAFN- Khaleej Times) Dubai-based development company Meraas on Tuesday announced the launch of Outlet Village that will take shape over a 20,000 square metres area. Unlike traditional outlet malls, Outlet Village will retail high-end luxury brands at discounted prices. Construction of Outlet Village is scheduled to begin in 2013, with the large-format destination set to host a total of 160 top-tier outlet stores. Phase one of the development will feature 100 high-end brands, while phase two will consist of 60 additional outlet stores. With Dubai's tourism industry marking exponential growth, Outlet Village is envisioned to emerge as an iconic and a must-visit destination for visitors and residents alike. The announcement follows Meraas' successful showcase of two new developments at Cityscape Global 2012 - The Beach and Island 2. The Beach is a retail, entertainment and food and beverage destination that will take shape at Jumeirah Beach Residence between the beachfront and existing promenade. The Island 2 is a mixed-use development designed as a high-end boutique resort featuring low-rise apartment buildings and a marina. The concept of the Outlet Village takes inspiration from a European village. Located at the intersection of Al Khail and Umm Suqeim road, Outlet Village will offer hassle-free access from across Dubai and neighbouring emirates.
