Flights delayed as dense fog takes over UAE


(MENAFN- Khaleej Times) disrupted flights at major airports in the United Arab Emirate.

The National Centre of Meteorology (NCM) reported early morning fog over Dubai International Airport, Abu Dhabi International Airport, Sharjah and other parts of the country.

Emirates a took to Twitter to notify their passengers about the delay.

At Abu Dhabi Airport, many overnight and early morning flights got affected with many landing and departing late.

However, national carrier Etihad functioned normally.

"No flight disruptions or delays apart from one flight (EY281 from Kochi) diverting to Muscat due to low visibility at Abu Dhabi. The aircraft is currently refuelling and will depart Muscat for Abu Dhabi shortly," the carrier said in a statement.

Educational institutions in the capital have rescheduled their timings for past few days.

"Not just us but most of the schools have changed their timings. This is for the safety of students," Abu Dhabi Indian School principal Neeraj Bhargava said.

Flightradar24.com also listed few delays and cancellations from Dubai international airport on Thursday morning.
