Jordan- 25 olive trees planted at JRCS garden to honor martyrs of humanitarian work

Amman, Jan. 24 (Petra)--President of Jordan Red Crescent (JRCS) Mohammad AL-Hadid welcomed today the regional delegations representing the red cross and red crescent national societies that will participate in the 9th Middle East and North Africa (MENA) Conference for Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies that will be held in Amman.

In his welcoming note, Al Hadid presented Jordan Red Crescent (JRCS) humanitarian programs and projects that are implemented in the local and refugee communities in cooperation with its partners in the humanitarian field.

Al Hadid emphasized that JRCS will continue its communications with each of the regional and international national societies as well as the international organizations to discuss new projects related to providing assistance to refugees in the Kingdom.

During the visit, the President of the International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies, Tadateru Conway, and the delegations planted 25 olive trees in JRCS garden as a commemorative gesture to appreciate the red cross and red crescent staff and volunteer martyrs of the humanitarian work in the Arab world.

The delegations also visited the National Center for First Aid and The Vocational Center. They were briefed about the main services these centers provide to the local community as well as the refugees community. These services include various courses such as sewing, literacy courses, computer courses, etc.

The delegations took a tour around Jordan Red Crescent Hospital and were also briefed about the nursing and various treatment services provided to the Syrian refugees and the local community, as well as its other capabilities and services.
