President Aoun praises Lebanese expatriate community in Qatar


(MENAFN- Gulf Times) Lebanese President General Michel Aoun has praised the care, attention and favourable working conditions enjoyed by the Lebanese community in Qatar.
This came in remarks by President Aoun on Wednesday evening at a ceremony organised by the Lebanese embassy in Doha on the occasion of his visit to Qatar, which was attended by a number of Lebanese expatriates.
He said that his visits to the region's countries were aimed at restoring relations, stressing that all the indicators at the beginning of this era show that Lebanon has taken the right path.
He pointed out that the increasing number of arrivals to Lebanon recently was the biggest proof of the return of confidence in the Lebanese situation.
President Aoun expressed hope that movement of trade between Lebanon and the countries of the region would be regular, stressing that Lebanon is now witnessing an upswing in the commercial, economic and industrial sectors and this would restore prosperity and development to the country.
He added that the Lebanese leadership is currently focusing on building a state that respects the law and is working to achieve the fundamental objectives for promoting trade and industry, tourism and the exploitation of natural resources, noting in this context to the decree issued on exploration for oil and gas as the first decisions taken by the new government.
