Trump provokes lone wolf attacks thorough rhetoric - Clinton

(MENAFN- Kuwait News Agency (KUNA)) WASHINGTON, Sept 19 (KUNA) -- Democratic presidential nominee Hillary Clinton on Monday accused her Republican rival Donald Trump of provoking lone wolf attacks through his rhetoric.

"A lot of the rhetoric we've heard from Donald Trump has been seized on by terrorists, in particular ISIS (now the so-called Islamic State)," she told a press conference in Philadelphia.

Groups like IS "are looking to make this into a war against Islam rather than a war against jihadists, violent terrorists," she said.

"They want to use that to recruit more fighters to their cause by turning it into a religious conflict." This gives IS "exactly what it's wanting in order for them to enhance their position," she said.

Clinton underlined that she was "going after the bad guys," and that if elected president she would not target "an entire religion." She also stressed the importance of closer coordination between the US government and the US tech industry in order to "intercept and prevent' online radicalization and recruitment by IS.

For his part, Trump, in an interview with Fox News, reiterated his disapproval over the reluctance of the Obama administration and the former secretary of state to mention "radical Islam" when referring to terror attacks.

He also said police in the US were "afraid to do anything about it because they don't want to be accused of profiling." Trump went on to mention Israel as an example to follow as "they've done an unbelievable job as good as you can do." Israel will "see somebody that's suspicious, they will profile. They will take that person in and they'll check out," he said.

He added that the US had no choice as "we're trying to be really politically-correct in our countryآ… You have to stop them from coming into the country," he said, reiterating his position to stop Muslims from entering the US. (end) sd
