KRG chief: PKK attacks Turkey using Kurdish region

(MENAFN) The PKK terrorist group is launching assaults against Turkey through the Kurdish region, as suggested Head of the Kurdish Regional Government (KRG) in northern Iraq Nechirvan Barzani.

The KRG has been awaiting the establishment of a coalition government in Baghdad after the manual recount of votes from June's parliamentary polls, its head stated after a Wednesday cabinet meeting.

The KRG head confirmed that therefore discussions with political coalitions are set to be carried out in Baghdad.

Barzani added that the KRG endorsed the resolution parliament has reached for the manual vote recount, a decision of which the Supreme Federal Court upheld.

He added "PKK uses many of the KRG's lands it occupies as a base to attack Turkey," stressing that "we never accept using our lands to attack Turkey and Iran."
