Saudi- UNHRC Holds Emergency Session on Rohingya at KSA's Request

Geneva, Rabi'I 17, 1439, Dec 5, 2017, SPA -- The United Nations Human Rights Council (UNHRC) in Geneva held an emergency session at the request of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia to discuss the situation in Myanmar, especially Rohingya Muslims in North Rakhine State, killing and persecuting them, as well as the escape of more than 600,000 people from violence in Myanmar to Bangladesh.
Supported by 73 countries, the session was held at the request of both the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and Bangladesh.
The Council has issued a resolution to set up a fact-finding commission in Myanmar to prove violations.
