Ministry Launches National Campaign To Promote Efficient Energy Use
Amman, May 21 (Petra) -- The Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources launched a nationwide awareness campaign Thursday aimed at promoting energy conservation and improving energy efficiency across the kingdom amid ongoing efforts to strengthen sustainability and reduce energy consumption.
The campaign, launched under the slogan "Smarter Generation, More Efficient Energy, Stronger Jordan," coincides with the Arab Energy Efficiency Day observed annually on May 21.
According to the ministry, the initiative forms part of its broader strategy to improve energy efficiency across different sectors by strengthening public awareness and encouraging more responsible energy consumption practices.
The ministry said the campaign places particular emphasis on engaging youth and university students across the kingdom, describing them as key partners in spreading awareness and supporting long-term sustainability goals.
The initiative includes a series of awareness activities across Jordan's governorates, including the distribution of educational materials and guidance publications focused on efficient energy use and consumption reduction.
The campaign will also feature awareness messages broadcast through local radio stations and university radio platforms, in addition to outreach through news websites and social media channels.
Friday sermons this week will also address the importance of rationalizing energy consumption and preserving resources through more efficient energy practices.
The Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources said the campaign aims to strengthen positive public behavior related to energy efficiency in a way that supports the national economy and contributes to preserving energy resources for future generations.
