Transfer Of Afghan Pilgrims For Hajj To Saudi Arabia Completed: Ministry

(MENAFN- Pajhwok Afghan News) KABUL (Pajhwok): The Ministry of Hajj and Religious Affairs (MoHRA) says the process of transporting this year's Afghan pilgrims to Saudi Arabia has been completed.

In a statement, the ministry said the transfer process for the 1405 solar year pilgrims began on the first day of Dhul-Qi'dah (an Islamic month) through Ariana Afghan Airlines and Kam Air and was completed on Wednesday.

According to the statement, the transportation was carried out in two phases under a structured plan.

In the first phase, 14,984 pilgrims were flown directly to Medina via 48 flights, while in the second phase, 15,016 pilgrims were transported to Jeddah via 49 flights and then taken onward to Makkah.

In total, 30,000 Afghan pilgrims were transported to Saudi Arabia through 97 flights in an organized manner this year, the statement added.

The ministry said all Afghan pilgrims are currently accommodated in standardized residential buildings in the Al-Mu'aisem area near Masjid al-Haram under official contracts.

It added that MoHRA will continue efforts to provide services, guidance, healthcare facilities, and coordination with relevant authorities and contracted companies to ensure Afghan pilgrims perform Hajj rituals in a safe and orderly manner.

The ministry also said that after the completion of the Hajj rituals, the return process of Afghan pilgrims will also be carried out in a safe and organized manner according to the scheduled plan.
