Erdoğan Hosts Sudan’s PM in Ankara for Talks on Bilateral Ties


(MENAFN) Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan held talks on Wednesday with Sudanese Prime Minister Kamil Idris during an official working visit to Ankara, according to reports from the Turkish Communications Directorate.

The meeting at the Presidential Complex focused on strengthening bilateral relations between Türkiye and Sudan, alongside discussions on broader regional and international developments, as stated by reports.

Erdoğan reportedly emphasized that Ankara and Khartoum aim to further deepen cooperation through both ongoing and future initiatives. He also reiterated Türkiye’s support for Sudan’s sovereignty and territorial integrity.

During the talks, the Turkish president said Türkiye is actively working to help bring an end to the ongoing conflict in Sudan and to support the restoration of stability in the country. He added that Ankara backs diplomatic efforts aimed at achieving a ceasefire and launching a comprehensive political process.

Erdoğan also highlighted that humanitarian assistance intended to alleviate the suffering of the Sudanese population would continue to be expanded during this period, according to reports.
