Hajj Mission Readies Pilgrims' Accommodations

Doha, Qatar: The Qatar Hajj Mission has intensified its inspection and monitoring efforts to ensure the full readiness of accommodation facilities and campaign headquarters designated for pilgrims from Qatar ahead of the arrival of the first groups on the fourth day of Dhul Hijjah.

The inspections are part of comprehensive preparations aimed at guaranteeing high-quality services and providing a safe, healthy, and comfortable environment for pilgrims throughout their spiritual journey. The Inspection and Oversight Unit of the mission has been conducting extensive field visits to residential facilities and campaign premises to verify compliance with approved standards and regulations. The inspections focus on ensuring that all accommodations meet the quality requirements set by the mission, while also confirming the implementation of strict health and food safety measures.

Mohammed Hassan Al Kaabi, Head of the Inspection and Oversight Unit at the Qatari Hajj Mission, said the inspection campaigns are part of an integrated supervisory system designed to ensure that all Hajj campaigns adhere to the approved standards for pilgrim accommodation and services.

He explained that inspection teams examine sleeping quarters, prayer areas, dining halls, reception facilities, and public spaces, while also assessing general cleanliness and operational readiness.

Al Kaabi added that the inspections extend to kitchens and food preparation areas, where officials examine cooking equipment and utensils to ensure their safety and efficiency. The teams also monitor the quality of food ingredients and verify compliance with approved health standards to guarantee the safety of meals served to pilgrims.

He noted that the Inspection and Oversight Unit includes health and food safety inspectors from the Ministry of Municipality, reflecting the strong cooperation among state institutions in serving Qatari pilgrims and ensuring their safety and well-being during the Hajj season.

According to Al Kaabi, monitoring and evaluation activities began during the month of Dhul Qa'dah, well before the start of Hajj operations. Initial inspections were carried out to identify observations and recommendations, enabling campaign operators to address requirements before pilgrims arrive.

The oversight process also covers pilgrim camps in Mina, Muzdalifah, and Arafat, in coordination with the Holy Sites Services Unit, to ensure compliance with health and safety standards and evaluate field services.
