KALBE Honours Loyal Diabetasol Customers At High Tea Event

(MENAFN- Colombo Gazette) KALBE, through its flagship nutritional brand Diabetasol, hosted the Diabetasol High Tea Event on 27 March 2026 at the Celestine Ballroom, Cinnamon Life at City of Dreams, Colombo.

The event brought together 50 loyal Diabetasol customers and representatives from leading media houses for an evening focused on reinforcing the message that a diabetes diagnosis is not the end of a full, active, and enjoyable life, but rather the beginning of a more mindful and empowered way of living.

Themed“Thriving with Diabetes,” the event aimed to shift the cultural conversation around diabetes from one of restriction and compromise to one of empowerment, education, and celebration. Guests were encouraged to see that managing diabetes does not mean giving up the joy of eating or meaningful social connections.

A key highlight of the evening was a moderated expert panel discussion titled“Balanced Living: Nutrition, a Positive Mindset, and Being Active in a Fun Way.” The panel brought together specialists offering both clinical and personal perspectives on living with diabetes.

Registered Dietitian Parami Weerasinghe, Senior Nutritionist at Heracle Care & Wellness, addressed the nutritional foundations of blood sugar management. She debunked common myths about sugar and sweeteners, explained the role of low-glycaemic index foods in daily life, and shared practical strategies for reading food labels and managing portion sizes.

Complementing this, counselling psychologist Anjali Budawatta Jayawardana, a mental health advocate and public speaker, highlighted the emotional and psychological aspects of managing a chronic condition. The discussion emphasised how mindset, routine, and social support are just as critical as diet and medication.

“Managing diabetes well is as much a mental discipline as it is a physical one. When patients understand that emotional health and blood sugar management are deeply connected, outcomes improve significantly,” said Anjali Budawatta Jayawardana.

Adding a culinary dimension to the event, guest chef Nadee Amarasinghe demonstrated how Diabetasol can be seamlessly incorporated into everyday recipes. Through a live cooking session, she showed how thoughtful ingredient choices can transform diabetes-friendly meals into flavourful and enjoyable dishes-challenging the misconception that such meals must be bland or restrictive.

One of the most memorable and uplifting moments of the event was a live dance therapy session led by Nilaksha Prasad, Founder of Shadow Dance Academy and a specialist in dance therapy for health and wellbeing. As a recognised therapeutic practice, dance therapy supports insulin sensitivity, cardiovascular health, and overall mental wellbeing.

“The Diabetasol High Tea Programme is our way of saying to every customer who has made this brand part of their daily life: we see you, we appreciate you, and we are committed to walking this journey with you. Today was proof that living well with diabetes is not just possible-it is something worth celebrating,” said Kishan Canagasabey, Head of Nutrition Business at KALBE.

Seeing loyal customers come together in a shared moment of movement and energy served as a powerful reflection of the event's core message: living with diabetes is not about limitation, but about continuing to move forward with strength, positivity, and purpose.
