Ariana Airlines Buys Two Aircraft Engines Worth Over $4 Million

(MENAFN- Khaama Press) Ariana Airlines has purchased two aircraft engines from Turkey and Serbia worth $4.7 million, aiming to strengthen operations and install them on Boeing 737 and Airbus 310.

Ariana Airlines said it has purchased two aircraft engines worth $4.7 million from Turkey and Serbia to strengthen its technical operations.

The airline said on Wednesday that the engines were transported from Turkey to Kabul and have already arrived in the country.

According to the company, the engines will be installed and commissioned in the near future by Ariana's technical teams on Boeing 737 and Airbus A310 aircraft.

The purchase is aimed at improving fleet readiness and supporting ongoing flight operations, the airline said, without providing further financial details.

Ariana added that the engines would help reduce operational disruptions linked to technical shortages.

Afghanistan's aviation sector has faced sustained pressure in recent years due to sanctions, limited access to certified spare parts and constraints on international maintenance services.

Industry experts say ageing aircraft fleets and restricted supply chains have forced local airlines to rely heavily on domestic technical capacity.

The acquisition signals an effort by Ariana to stabilise operations and maintain regular services amid broader economic and regulatory challenges.
