Google, World Bank Collaborate to Build AI-Driven Public Networks
(MENAFN) On Tuesday, Google revealed a strategic partnership with the World Bank Group aimed at creating AI-driven public digital infrastructure tailored for emerging economies.
"The collaboration focuses on deploying Open Network Stacks, which act like digital infrastructure to help citizens access vital services," the Google statement emphasized.
By merging Google Cloud’s cutting-edge AI technologies—including its Gemini models—with the World Bank Group’s development expertise, the initiative seeks to enable governments to swiftly establish interoperable networks across essential sectors such as agriculture, health care, and workforce development.
"Citizens can interact with these AI-powered services in over 40 languages, even on simple devices," the statement highlighted.
This alliance builds on a successful pro bono pilot that empowered thousands of smallholder farmers in India’s Uttar Pradesh to enhance their profitability, according to the statement.
"To foster a sustainable and open ecosystem, Googleis providing funding to the new nonprofit Networks for Humanity (NFH), to build universal digital infrastructure (Beckn open network and Finternet asset tokenization), establish regional innovation labs and pilot social impact applications globally," it added.
