Qatar Handball Team Drawn Into Group D At Asian Youth Games
Doha: The handball draw for the 3rd Asian Youth Games, scheduled to be held in Bahrain from October 22nd to 31st, placed the Qatari national team in Group D alongside Saudi Arabia, Uzbekistan, and the Maldives.
Group A included the teams of Bahrain, Jordan and Thailand, the second group included the teams of Kuwait, China and India, and the third group included the teams of Iran, the UAE, Kazakhstan and Hong Kong.
The first and second place teams from each group will qualify for the main round, during which the eight qualified teams will be divided into two groups of four teams in each group, with the first and second place teams qualifying for the semi-finals.
The handball competitions at the Asian Games will begin on October 19. The Qatari national team won the gold medal in the handball competition at the 2nd Asian Youth Games (Nanjing 2013) after defeating South Korea in the final match with a score of (28-21).
