(MENAFN) An Israeli national broadcaster, disclosed on Monday fresh insights into a clandestine subterranean section within Ayalon Prison, referred to as “Rakevet.”

This hidden unit is where individuals affiliated with the Palestinian faction Hamas and the Lebanese organization Hezbollah are confined under what the broadcaster described as “harsh and extreme conditions.”

Based on the report, the Rakevet section is a deeply secured underground complex outfitted with cutting-edge monitoring technologies and rigorous protective protocols.

The concealed wing was created approximately a year ago and is presently home to several detainees, including fighters from Hamas’ specialized brigades and maritime assault teams, according to the broadcaster.

In addition, the facility contains members of Hezbollah’s elite “Radwan Force,” who were apprehended during Israeli defense operations near the Lebanese border.
