Israel Army Issues Land Grab Order In Hebron, Continues West Bank Home Demolitions
(MENAFN- Jordan News Agency)
Ramallah, July 2 (Petra) – Israeli occupation forces on Wednesday issued an order to seize about 1,200 dunums of Palestinian-owned land in a village west of Hebron in the southern West Bank, for expansion of Jewish settlements, according to local Palestinians.
In a statement, the local council of Tarqumiya village said the order aimed to connect the Adora and Telem settlements and is part of ongoing land grabs that would increase the suffering of local Palestinians and raise more tensions in the area.
Elsewhere in the occupied West Bank, Israeli military forces demolished a home in the town of Ni'lin, west of Ramallah, in the central West Bank.
An Israeli force, with a bulldozer, stormed the town today and razed the two-story building, five years after issuing an order to stop construction at the site, said Ni'lin Mayor Yousef Khawaja.
Further north, the occupation army served notices to 50 families in the Tulkarm refugee camp to vacate their homes for demolition amid daily raids, arrests and escalating attacks by Jewish settlers across the West Bank.
The Popular Committee for Services in Tulkarm Camp said in a statement that the evacuation orders are part of a plan to demolish about 400 apartments in 100 buildings that also house dozens of commercial establishments.
