Doha Municipality Launches Mazoon Service For Mourners At Cemeteries
Doha, Qatar: In an innovative step that reflects commitment to advancing sustainable urban development, Doha Municipality, represented by the Services Affairs Department (Cemeteries Services Section), unveiled a new electric car "Mazoon," the first vehicle of its kind dedicated to serving mourners at cemeteries, equipped with a fully integrated handwashing system.
The Services Affairs Department confirmed that "Mazoon" will operate regularly at Mesaimeer Cemetery in Doha, with future plans to expand the service to promote a culture of public hygiene.
This unique initiative responds to the community's need for a healthy and practical way to wash hands with soap and water after burials. An electric golf cart was redesigned and converted into a mobile unit equipped with a modern washing machine and drying system, available free of charge to mourners.
The name "Mazoon" is inspired by rain clouds, a symbolic sign of purity and cleanliness.
The initiative serves as a model to be emulated in environmental innovation through Doha Municipality's efforts to provide humanitarian services that take into account the needs of society and keep pace with modern environmental trends in the spirit of innovation and sustainability.
