Army Chief Visits Muwaffaq Salti Air Base, Engineering Directorate

Amman, June 25 (Petra) - Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff of the Jordan Armed |Forces- Arab Army (JAF), Major General Yousef Huneiti, Monday called on Martyr Muwaffaq Salti Air Base, where he was welcomed by the Royal Jordanian Air Force commander.
The army chief was briefed on key operational missions carried out by the base during recent events as well regular operational tasks and latest developments it witnessed in various fields.
He also inspected a number of aircraft squadrons, reviewing their level of readiness to efficiently and effectively carry out missions and tasks, and their ability to respond to various situations.
In the presence of senior officers, the Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff commended the distinguished efforts made by air force personnel during the recent events, commending their professionalism, dedication and effectiveness in protecting Jordanian airspace and national security.
He stressed that the development and modernization of aircraft and equipment is ongoing to guarantee the armed forces' ability to defend the Kingdom.
Huneiti also visited the Royal Jordanian Engineering Corps Directorate, where he was briefed by the commander of the explosive ordnance disposal unit on falling objects, explosives and munitions from missiles and drones that were dealt with.
The commander reviewed key missions carried out by the unit and efforts exerted across the Kingdom, where about 156 drones, 107 warheads and 132 missiles were dealt weith to safeguard public safety and protect lives and property.
The army chief also inaugurated the directorate's warehouse building as part of efforts to upgrade infrastructure to enable it to fully perform its duties. He commended the vital role of the Royal Engineering Corps and the efforts of its field teams deployed across the Kingdom's governorates in enhancing national security and safety.
He conveyed the greetings of His Majesty King Abdullah II, the Supreme Commander, and his pride in the brave members of JAF in various locations, noting their allegiance and dedication.
