NEW YORK, May 28 (KUNA) -- You might have seen it in a movie, television show or maybe had the chance to visit; there is no denial that the iconic Brooklyn Bridge is one of New York City's 19th Century architectural wonders.
Spanning across the East River between Manhattan and Brooklyn at a total length of 1,834 meters and width of 26 meters, the bridge is known for its gothic looks.
The bridge, opened in 1883 and took 14 years to build, was the longest structure of its kind in the world.
Nowadays, the Brooklyn Bridge sees around 100,000 vehicles passing by daily, in addition to 30,000 pedestrians, and around 3,000 on bicycles, according to official statistics. (end)
