Libya Reports Harmless Offshore Quake

TUNISIA, March 30 (KUNA) -- The Libyan Center for Remote Sensing and Space Sciences on Sunday reported an earthquake measuring 4.3 degrees on the Richter Scale happened off the country's western coast.
Epicenter of the earthquake, monitored by international seismological centers, was in the southern shores of the Mediterranean.
It happened at 3:16 a.m. (local time), some 49 kilometers from Misrata and 229 kms from the capital Tripoli.
The Libyan center said the quake happened at remote locations however it was sensed in the regions close to the western coast.
No substantial damage or casualties were reported. (end)
