Amb. Al-Najem: Kuwait Keen On Strategic Partnership With China

(MENAFN- Kuwait News Agency (KUNA)) BEIJING, March 23 (KUNA) -- Kuwaiti Ambassador to China Jassem Al-Najem affirmed on Sunday Kuwait's keenness to enhance cooperation with China, especially within economy and investment.
In a statement to KUNA, Ambassador Al-Najem said that several major projects between the two countries were in the works, after a delegation from the Kuwait Direct Investment Promotion Authority (KDIPA) visited Beijing.
He explained that the delegation's visit was a continuation of the memorandum of understanding (MoU) in the field of free trade and economic zones, which was signed between KDIPA and China's Commerce Ministry in September 2023 during His Highness the Amir Sheikh Meshal Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah's visit to China.
Ambassador Al-Najem added that the KDIPA delegation would visit a number of companies and institutions in the Beijing Economic and Technological Development Area, and meet with relevant officials from China's Commerce Ministry.
He emphasized Kuwait's commitment to its strategic partnership with China, and its contribution to achieving mutual benefits.
He also praised the contributions of Chinese companies in economic cooperation between the two countries, with Kuwait launching massive development programs and projects, and welcoming Chinese companies to contribute due to their experience.
Kuwait signed several MoUs with China in 2023, including the implementation of the Mubarak Al-Kabeer Port project. (end)
