Aron Kristjansson, New Handball Coach For Kuwait

KUWAIT, March 17 (KUNA) -- Kuwait's Handball Federation announced on Monday the signing of Icelandic coach Aron Kristjansson to manage the national handball team for one year.
Treasurer of the Kuwait Handball Federation, Khaled Talib said to KUNA that following negotiations he was able to convince the Icelandic coach to take over the task of supervising the National Team, who's pedigree proceeds him with experience in the GCC region, managing the Bahraini national team.
Adding, the management of Kristjansson is a good decision as the national team is in race against time with very decisive competition closing in like the Arab Cup in May as well as Asian Cup in 2026 as he will need to familiarize himself with the Kuwaiti players in order to take charge with all the competitions approaching.
Kristjansson, 52-years old with more than 20 years under his belt in the Icelandic, German, and Danish leagues while also managing his own nation's team from 2012-2016, leading to him coaching Bahrain in 2018, and he was also a professional player from 1990 to 2004. (end)
