Amman Chamber Of Industry Exports Surge 19% In First Two Months Of 2025

Amman, March 5 (Petra) – Exports from the Amman Chamber of Industry have increased by 19% during the first two months of this year compared to the same period last year, maintaining the upward trajectory that began in early 2025.
According to statistical data obtained by the Jordan News Agency (Petra), the chamber's exports for January and February of this year amounted to JD 1.102 billion, compared to JD 926 million during the same period in 2024.
The majority of industrial sectors reported growth in their exports, with the exception of the medical and therapeutic industries, as well as the wood and furniture sectors, which saw declines of 28.5% and 19.7%, respectively.
Other sub-sectors experienced varying growth rates, with the construction materials sector showing the largest increase of 105.5%, while the packaging, paper, and office supplies sector saw a more modest rise of 5.7%.
The top destinations for exports from the Amman Chamber of Industry during the past two months were India, the United States, Saudi Arabia, and Iraq, which together accounted for more than half of the total exports, amounting to JD 638 million. Exports to Syria experienced a remarkable surge of 276.8%, rising to JD 44 million compared to JD 11 million in the same period of 2024.
Regionally, Arab countries led the export destinations, accounting for JD 537 million, followed by non-Arab Asian countries with JD 215 million, and North America with approximately JD 207 million.
Exports to the European Union reached JD 56 million, while non-EU European countries accounted for JD 43 million. African countries imported JD 28 million worth of products, and other countries received JD 14 million in exports.
The chamber's exports during the first two months of the year were distributed across various sectors: mining products (JD 226 million), chemicals and cosmetics (JD 210 million), engineering, electrical, and information technology (JD 193 million), as well as food, agricultural, and livestock products (JD 167 million). Additionally, exports from the leather and textiles sector totaled JD 94 million, while medical supplies and therapeutic products amounted to JD 72 million.
The remaining exports were divided among the plastic and rubber industries (JD 53 million), packaging and paper products (JD 44 million), construction materials (JD 40 million), and wood and furniture products (JD 3 million).
The Amman Chamber of Industry, established in 1962, currently represents 8,600 industrial facilities, employing 159,000 individuals, with a total capital of approximately JD 5 billion.
