Arm Wrestling Contest At Safari Mall


(MENAFN- Gulf Times) The 'Arm Wrestling Competition Season-6 held at Safari Mall, Abu Hamour, as part of Qatar National Sport Day, was a resounding success, a statement said.
The competition featured two categories based on weight: below 80kg and above 80kg, with a total prize pool of QR10,000. Winners in each category received QR2,500, QR1,500 and QR1,000 for the first, second and third places, respectively.
The event attracted over 140 participants from various nationalities, including India, Pakistan, Nepal, Sri Lanka, Egypt, Syria, Jordan, the Philippines, Nigeria, and other African nations, making it a diverse and competitive tournament.
In the below 80kg category, Rinto Jose (India) was first, Abdullah Farooq Kayani (Pakistan) second and Ebin Tomy (India) third. In the above 80kg category, Davis Akiti (Nigeria) was first, Umar Fazil (India) second and Muhammad Ismail (Pakistan), third.
The event was managed by Joju Komban and Mujeeb Rahman, with the coordination support of Jubin, Sajad, Faisal, and Niju.
Alongside the arm wrestling competition, the Hang On Balance Contest also garnered significant participation. In this challenge, participants had to balance their body weight on a specially designed bar for the longest duration. The winners from Safari Mall Abu Hamour, Al Khor, and Birkat Al Awamer Safari Hypermarket outlets will be awarded their prizes in the coming days.
