Moldova Confirms Airspace Violation By UAV Overnight Mon

(MENAFN- UkrinForm) Moldova's defense Ministry said that last night an unmanned aerial vehicle had violated the country's airspace.
This was reported by Moldpres , Ukrinform saw.
The drone was detected and tracked by the air surveillance systems of Moldova's National Army.
As reported by the head of the MoD press service, Maria Arame, the drone crossed into the country's airspace between 00:30 and 00:45 along the route Pavlivka (Ukraine) - Karmanovo - Mayak – Grigoriopol, before heading back along the same trajectory.

The Ministry of Defense provided no details about the possible origin of the drone and the purpose of airspace breach, while emphasized that the military is“closely monitoring” the situation.
As Ukrinform reported earlier, Ukraine's Defense Forces shot down 38 Russian Shahed kamikaze UAVs and other types of drones, which the Russians had launched since late Sunday, while another 25 drones disappeared from radar, causing no damage on the ground.
As a result of the enemy attack, Sumy, Kharkiv, and Cherkasy regions were affected.

In December 2024, drone wreckage was located in Moldova's Orhei district, located near the border with Ukraine's Odesa region.
Before that, Russian drones violated Moldovan airspace on November 17, 2024. That night, Russia launched a massive strike targeting Ukraine's critical infrastructure, involving missiles and drones.
