Donald Trump Speaks With Canada PM Justin Trudeau Amid Tension Over 25% Tariff: 'It's Also DRUG WAR'
(MENAFN- Live Mint) Amid tension over the 25 percent tariff, US President Donald trump said he had a conversation with Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau on Monday and was due to speak again at 3:00 pm (2000 GMT).
In a post on Truth Social, Trump said, "Canada doesn't even allow US Banks to open or do business there. What's that all about?"
He wrote,“Many such things, but it's also a DRUG WAR, and hundreds of thousands of people have died in the US from drugs pouring through the Borders of Mexico and Canada.”

"Just spoke to Justin Trudeau. Will be speaking to him again at 3:00 PM," Trump posted.
Trump pauses Mexico tariffs
Soon after this post on Canada, Trump informed that he spoke with Mexico President Claudia Sheinbaum and“greed to immediately pause the anticipated tariffs for a one month period.”
Donald Trump and Sheinbaum both said Monday that their planned tariffs were on hold for a month to give time for further negotiations. The statement was confirmed by the White House.
Trump's tariffs against Canada and China are still slated to go into effect on Tuesday.

Donald Trump announced on Sunday his decision to impose "25% Tariff on Imports from Mexico and Canada (10% on Canadian Energy), and a 10% additional Tariff on China ."
He reportedly said he will discuss the punishing tariffs he has levied on Canada and Mexico with both countries on Monday, as markets sank on fears over the impact on the global economy.
Canada responded to Trump's new tariff with retaliatory measures, imposing 25% tariffs "against $155 billion worth of American goods," Trudeau announced Sunday.
