SSU Detains Russian Agent In Odesa Spying On Warships
(MENAFN- UkrinForm) The Security Service of Ukraine (SSU) has detained an FSB agent in Odesa who was spying on Ukrainian warships defending the country's maritime territory.
The SSU reported this on facebook , as per Ukrinform.
The SSU defense counterintelligence service has disrupted another attempt by Russia to gather intelligence on Ukraine's defense forces in the Black Sea.
The FSB agent had been spying on naval bases and routes of Ukrainian warships near Odesa seaport. The data were intended for use in preparing combat operations using cruise missiles and kamikaze drones, as well as identifying fire positions of Ukraine's air defense systems.
The agent used his own car to secretly take photos of military objects and record geolocations, sending the information to his Russian handlers. The SSU has identified the agent's identity and arrested him at his residence in Odesa.
During searches, a mobile phone and computer used for communication with the FSB were found. The agent, a 37-year-old unemployed Odesa resident, was lured into collaboration with the occupiers through Telegram channels offering quick earnings.

The agent has been charged with treason committed during martial law under Article 111, Part 2 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine and remains in custody without the right to bail. He faces life imprisonment with property confiscation.
As reported by Ukrinform, the SSU investigators have gathered a vast evidence base against a Russian businessman who manufactured and supplied over 13,000 strike drones of the Geran type to the Russian Armed Forces.
