Kuwait Projects USD 22.44 Bln Budget Deficit For FY25-26


(MENAFN- Kuwait News Agency (KUNA)) KUWAIT, Feb 2 (KUNA) -- Kuwait's budget deficit in the fiscal year 2025-2026 is expected at KD 6.306 billion (USD 22.44 billion), the Cabinet said in an extraordinary meeting on Sunday.
The budget, which starts April 1, 2025 and ends on March 31, 2026, also forecasts KD 18.231 billion (USD 59.10 billion) in revenue, and KD 24.538 billion (USD 79.54 billion) in expenditure, said Minister of Finance and Minister of State for Economic and investment Affairs Noura Al-Fassam.
The Cabinet; after commending Al-Fassam's presentation, which also involved endorsing budget bills of ministries and government agencies for the aforementioned fiscal year, decided to approve the concerned draft bills, and forward them to His Highness the Amir Sheikh Meshal Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah, said Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of State for Cabinet Affairs, and acting defense and interior minister Shereedah Al-Mousherji after the meeting, chaired by His Highness the Prime Minister Sheikh Ahmad Abdullah Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah at Bayan Palace.
Meanwhile, and on the occasion of national celebrations of the State of Kuwait's 64th National Day and 34th Liberation Day, the Cabinet conveyed most sincere greetings to His Highness the Amir Sheikh Meshal Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah, Highness the Crown Prince Sheikh Sabah Khaled Al-Hamad Al-Sabah and the Kuwaiti people.
