Hamas leader criticizes US for its repeated calls to displace Gaza’s residents

(MENAFN) Hamas leader Sami Abu Zuhri criticized the United States for its repeated calls to displace Gaza’s residents under the pretext of reconstruction, calling it an attempt to complicate the situation further and accusing the U.S. of complicity in ongoing crimes.

In a statement on Saturday, Abu Zuhri dismissed the U.S. proposals as "absurd" and emphasized that the Political tactics behind them would not succeed in achieving what the Occupation has failed to do by force. He added that the U.S. administration’s insistence on displacement projects would only exacerbate regional tensions and instability.

The comments came after U.S. President Donald Trump reiterated on Friday that Jordan and Egypt should receive Gaza’s residents. Speaking to reporters in the White House, Trump expressed his desire for Jordan, Egypt, and other Arab nations to increase their intake of Palestinian refugees from Gaza, claiming that this could help clear the war-torn area.
