Doha: The cultural and artistic activities associated with the Katara International Arabian Horse Festival 2025 continued to thrive, drawing an impressive audience. Among the festival's notable events was a mural painting initiative, where six visual artists collaborated in open-air settings, showcasing their works to the public.
The participating artists expressed their enthusiasm for being part of this international cultural celebration, highlighting the mural activity as a remarkable opportunity to illustrate the profound connection between equestrianism and visual arts.
The visual artist Fahad Al Maadheed conveyed his enthusiasm for participating in the events associated with the Katara International Arabian Horse Festival 2025. He emphasized his commitment to evolving his artistic practice each year, aiming to introduce fresh and innovative concepts while maintaining his artistic identity.
He remarked that his contributions to the Katara Festival represent a continuation of his previous works. Al Maadheed expressed gratitude to the organizers of the festival's latest edition, highlighting his intention to present unique and distinctive pieces. He described his approach as one that integrates the audience as a vital component of the artwork, employing a modern style influenced by the Impressionist movement. He noted that the effects of his work become increasingly apparent over time, utilizing impressionistic techniques. Furthermore, he shared that his experience in creating murals at the Katara Festival has enriched his ability to work with expansive spaces and vibrant colors.
The plastic artist Iman Al Haidos stated that this marks her third participation in the Katara Festival. She aims to showcase the elegance of horses in her mural, particularly focusing on those that symbolize challenge and determination as they race from a distance, which resonates with her own character.
Several other artistic activities continued within the cultural programme of the festival, including (the saddle painting activity), where 15 male and female artists excelled in presenting artistic paintings on saddles made of natural leather, using various colours and techniques that reflect the authenticity of Arabian horses in a contemporary artistic style.
