Value of Iran's exports to Belarus hits USD14.9M in 9 months


(MENAFN) Iran's exports to Belarus reached a total value of USD14.9 million during the first nine months of the current Iranian calendar year, which runs from March 20 to December 21, 2024. According to a report published by the Islamic Republic of Iran Customs Administration (IRICA), the weight of goods exported to Belarus during this period was 16,622,805 tons. This signifies a strong trade relationship between the two nations, reflecting the ongoing efforts to enhance their commercial ties.

In mid-January, Iran inaugurated its Trade Center in Minsk, marking a significant step in boosting bilateral trade. The event was attended by Mohammad Atabak, Iran’s Minister of Industry, Mining, and Trade, who led a delegation to Belarus. Also present was Mohammad Ali Dehghani-Dehnavi, the Deputy Minister and Head of Iran’s Trade Promotion Organization (TPO), both of whom were instrumental in the center's opening.

During their visit, Atabak and Dehghani-Dehnavi met with Iranian business representatives in Belarus to discuss measures that could further promote trade and cooperation between the two countries. Proposals aimed at streamlining business activities and fostering economic collaboration were made to ensure smoother exchanges.

On January 22, a meeting took place at the Tehran Chamber of Commerce, Industries, Mines, and Agriculture (TCCIMA), where TCCIMA Head Mojtaba Najafi Arab and Belarusian Ambassador to Iran Dmitry Koltsov reviewed potential avenues to strengthen trade relations. The officials highlighted the newly signed free trade agreement between Iran and the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU), emphasizing its significance as a tool to advance trade between Iran and Belarus.
