Denmark Trounce Portugal, Sail To Final Of World Handball Championship

(MENAFN- Kuwait News Agency (KUNA)) KUWAIT, Jan 31 (KUNA) -- Denmark produced Friday yet another flawless performance to secure their fourth consecutive berth for the final of the IHF Men's World Championship.
Denmark qualified to the final, with their eighth win in a row at Croatia/Denmark/Norway 2025 championship, 40:27, in the semi-final against Portugal.
This is the largest win in history for a semi-final of the IHF Men's World Championship, as well as the largest number of goals scored in a single semi-final, beating the previous record 39 goals held by Croatia in 2003.
But this was not a walk in the park for Denmark, which just extended their record unbeaten streak at the IHF Men's World Championship to 36 matches - 34 wins and two draws. And, consequently, became the first team in history to qualify for four consecutive finals of the competition.
The reigning champions will face Croatia in the last match of the 29th edition of the IHF Men's World Championship on Sunday, having the chance to become the first team in history to win the title four times in a row. (end)
