Turkmenistan, Kyrgyzstan Sign Final Intergovernmental Commission Protocol


(MENAFN- Trend News Agency) ASHGABAT, Turkmenistan, July 26. Turkmenistan and Kyrgyzstan signed the final protocol of the sixth meeting of the Intergovernmental Commission on Trade, Economic, Scientific, Technical and Humanitarian Cooperation, held from July 24 through 25, 2024 in Cholpon-Ata city, Trend reports.

According to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan, the Turkmen delegation was headed by the Minister of energy of Turkmenistan Annageldi Saparov, the Kyrgyz delegation was headed by the Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers, Minister of Water Resources, Agriculture and Processing Industry of Kyrgyzstan Bakyt Torobayev.

During the meeting, the parties also held a ceremony of exchanging signed documents in the field of electricity imports from Turkmenistan to Kyrgyzstan for 2025.

At the meeting, the delegations discussed a wide range of issues related to the development of cooperation between Turkmenistan and Kyrgyzstan in the energy sector, while emphasizing the positive nature of mutually beneficial cooperation between the two countries.

Furthermore, the parties also noted the need to deepen cooperation in the fields of energy, agriculture, culture, tourism, and sports.

Meanwhile, the cooperation between Turkmenistan and Kyrgyzstan has significantly developed over recent years, driven by mutual interests in economic, cultural, and political spheres.

Both countries have actively engaged in enhancing trade relations, focusing on energy, agriculture, and transportation sectors, with high-level visits and bilateral agreements strengthening their partnership and promoting regional stability and growth.
