BAKU, Azerbaijan, July 25. The 3rd meeting of
the Organization of Turkic States (OTS) Council of General
Prosecutors, established in Baku in 2021, has taken place with the
participation of Azerbaijan in Bishkek, Trend
reports.
The meeting, also attended by prosecutor generals from
Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Uzbekistan, and Türkiye, along with
delegations led by the Secretary-General of the Turkic Council and
the chief advisor of the International Association of Prosecutors,
featured a video address from the President of Kyrgyzstan, Sadyr
Zhaparov, who greeted the participants and wished them success in
their session.
Highlighting the significance of Turkic unity for Azerbaijan,
the country's General Kamran Aliyev emphasized that this is
affirmed by the statement of President Ilham Aliyev: "We have no
other family. Our family is the Turkic world".
Kamran Aliyev noted that the OTS will make a significant
contribution to consolidating efforts and enhancing mutual
cooperation in ensuring legality and law enforcement across its
member states, as well as in effectively protecting human rights
and freedoms and combating all forms of crime.
The prosecutor general informed his colleagues that under the
leadership of the victorious Supreme Commander-in-Chief, President
of Azerbaijan, the country fully restored its territorial
integrity.
He also mentioned that rapid reconstruction and building efforts
are underway in Karabakh, thanks to the attention and care of the
head of state, Ilham Aliyev, and First Vice President Mehriban
Aliyeva.
Furthermore, Kamran Aliyev announced that Azerbaijan will host
COP29, the 29th Session of the Conference of the Parties to the UN
Framework Convention on Climate Change, and from September 29 to
October 2 of this year, the 29th Annual Conference and General
Assembly of the International Association of Prosecutors. He
invited his colleagues to participate in these prestigious
events.
The Bishkek Declaration was adopted at the conclusion of the
session, and it was decided that the next session will be held in
Uzbekistan in 2025.
The extraordinary and plenipotentiary Ambassador of Azerbaijan
to Kyrgyzstan, Latif Gandilov, participated in the event.
During the visit, the Prosecutor General of Azerbaijan met with
his counterparts from Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan, as well as with
the chief advisor of the International Association of Prosecutors,
discussing further cooperation matters.
This concluded the working visit of the delegation of the
Prosecutor General's Office of Azerbaijan to Kyrgyzstan.
To note, the first and second meetings of the OTS Council of
Prosecutor Generals were held in Baku and Ankara in 2021 and 2023,
respectively.
