Royal Court Chief Meets With Youth Delegation From Jerash, Tafileh, Fallujah Tribes

(MENAFN- Jordan Times) AMMAN - Royal Court Chief Yousef Issawi highlighted on Wednesday his majesty King Abdullah's efforts to draw international attention to the plight of the Palestinians amid the ongoing Israeli aggression against Gaza.

The King is using his resources and esteemed international reputation to support Palestine and its people, supporting their just cause and their legitimate rights, including the establishment of an independent, viable state on the 4 June 1967 borders with East Jerusalem as its capital, Issawi said.

The comments came during three separate meetings at the Royal Hashemite Court where Issawi, accompanied by the King's Advisor on Tribal Affairs Kneiaan Bluw, met with community delegations from the Meqbeleh region in Jerash and Hamaideh tribe from Tafileh and the Fallujah tribes in Jordan, according to a Royal Court statement.

Commending the King's forward-looking vision in turning challenges into opportunities and keeping the Palestinian cause at the forefront of the global agenda, Issawi said "Jordan continues to stand by the Palestinians and intensify efforts to alleviate their suffering".

Issawi also reviewed Jordan's comprehensive efforts to support the Palestinians since the beginning of the Israeli aggression on Gaza, both politically and humanitarian.

He stressed King Abdullah's consistent call for an immediate halt to the Israeli aggression, the protection of the civilian population in Gaza and ensuring a sustained flow of humanitarian and medical aid.

Jordan rejects Israeli actions that violate international laws and treaties, Issawi said, condemning the aggression against Palestinians in Gaza and the West Bank and all attempts at forcible transfer.

He highlighted Her Majesty Queen Rania's "key" role in raising global awareness of the injustices faced by Palestinians in the West Bank and Gaza under Israeli occupation.

He also praised the support of HRH Crown Prince Hussein in overseeing the dispatch of Jordan's second field hospital to Gaza and ensuring that aid reaches Palestinians, and commended HRH Princess Salma for her bravery during a humanitarian airdrop.

Jordan will continue its efforts to ensure the flow of humanitarian, medical and relief aid by air and land to alleviate Palestinians suffering, in accordance with royal directives, Issawi said.

He also referred to the royal directive to hold parliamentary elections, which marks an important step in political modernisation and a new phase of party and parliamentary work, demonstrating Jordan's strength, security and stability.

The attendees reiterated their support for the Kingdom's intensified efforts on international and regional fronts to stop the Israeli aggression on Gaza and the oppressive measures in the West Bank.

They praised Jordan's efforts to break the siege of Gaza through aid airdrops, field hospitals and ongoing flow of humanitarian assistance.

The leaders also underlined the importance of the Hashemite Custodianship over Islamic and Christian holy sites in Jerusalem and commended the Jordanian armed forces and security agencies for safeguarding the Kingdom's security, stability and borders.
