‘Liberation Front’ appears throughout numerous French overseas terrains

(MENAFN) A coalition of parties and Political movements advocating for independence from French control has recently emerged under the banner of the "International Front for Liberation of Last French Colonies." This new alliance was established following a two-day conference held in Baku, Azerbaijan, where representatives from various French overseas territories gathered to unite in their fight against what they term 'French colonialism.'

The coalition includes parties from a diverse array of territories, such as the Mediterranean island of Corsica, several Caribbean islands, and regions in Melanesia and Polynesia. Additionally, a party from New Caledonia, a Pacific territory that experienced significant unrest in May due to election reforms imposed by Paris, is also part of this new front. The unrest in New Caledonia led France to launch a substantial operation in the territory, located about 17,000 kilometers from the French mainland.

During their meeting, the coalition members signed a founding declaration for their liberation front and simultaneously launched a website dedicated to their cause. The coalition condemned France's policies of racism and repression against the indigenous populations of its overseas territories. Their stated objective is to mobilize efforts for decolonization and to serve as a central platform in their collective struggle against French colonial rule, as reported by Azerbaijani media covering the event.
