Jordan, Egypt Reject Any Displacement Of Palestinians

(MENAFN- Kuwait News Agency (KUNA)) AMMAN, July 18 (KUNA) -- Jordan's Foreign Minister Ayman Safadi and his Egyptian peer Badr Abdel-Atti have affirmed their rejection of the displacement of Palestinians inside their occupied territories or outside them.
During the talks held Thursday in the Jordanian capital, Amman, the two ministers stressed continuation of working together, and consultations with the sisterly and friendly countries, to reach an immediate and everlasting ceasefire, and ensure the entry of humanitarian aid into the whole Gaza, Jordan's Foreign Ministry said in a statement.
The two ministers called for opening all crossings to allow the entry of immediate, sufficient and unconditional aid into the entire Strip.
They also urged launching an effective and real plan to resolve the conflict, and achieve an everlasting and fair peace, it noted.
The two sides held Israeli occupation full responsible for humanitarian disaster caused by imposing a siege on Gaza and preventing the entry of sufficient assistance as well as targeting UN organizations, including the UNRWA.
They said such acts are a flagrant violation of international law and international humanitarian law, it stated.
Proposing any future solution should include Gaza as an integrated part of all occupied Palestinian territories, including the Wes Bank and East Jerusalem, it pointed out.
This solution also embodies the establishment of an independent and sovereign Palestinian state with East Jerusalem as its capital based on June 4 1967, in line with the two-state solution, international legitimacy resolutions and references.
Meanwhile, the two ministers condemned the Knesset's resolution rejecting setting up a Palestinian state, saying the move is a dangerous escalation and a breach of international law.
They noted that the move also undermines efforts aimed at achieving a comprehensive and fair peace.
They emphasized they will carry on working together, in coordination with the Arab states, to get more recognition from countries of Palestine's state.
The two sides deplored Israeli minister's storming into Al-Aqsa Mosque, noting it violates international law and is a provocative act.
They called for respecting the standing historic and legal position of Muslim and Christian sanctities in the occupied Jerusalem.
Al-Asqa Mosque is a place where Muslims perform their worship and Jordan is responsible for managing the Mosque's affairs, they said.
Israel's continued aggression on Gaza and its illegal steps in the occupied West Bank increase the danger of expanding the war regionally in a manner that poses international security and peace to danger, according to the statement.
In addition, the two ministers underlined their support to Lebanon, rejecting any attacks on that Arab country and calling for implementing the UN Security Council Resolution 1701. (end)
