E-ID Card Distribution Centres To Be Set Up Abroad


(MENAFN- Pajhwok Afghan News) KABUL (Pajhwok): Centres for the distribution of electronic identity cards will be set up in several foreign countries, says the National Statistics and Information Authority (NSIA).

An NSIA team recently set in motion the process of issuing electronic ID cards to Afghans in the United Arab Emirates (UAE), said Mohammad Haleem Rafi, spokesman for the authority.

NSIA also planned to open offices in Iran, Pakistan, Turkey and several other countries, Bakhtar New Agency quoted the official as saying.

Additionally, Rafi added that the National Statistics and Information Authority currently has 78 active centers across the country, through which approximately 11,000 electronic ID cards are distributed to citizens daily.

Since the beginning of the e-ID card distribution process, 13.7 million Afghans have received their electronic identity documents.
