Turkmenistan Unveils Total Volume Of Natural Gas Production For 1H2024


(MENAFN- Trend News Agency) ASHGABAT, Turkmenistan, July 15. The volume of natural gas production in Turkmenistan from January through June this year amounted to more than 40.23 billion cubic meters, Trend reports.

Dovletgeldi Amanmukhammedov, Chairman of Turkmenistan's State Statistics Committee, made this announcement during an extended meeting of the Cabinet of Ministers held on July 12, 2024.

At the same time, he also reported on the ongoing work to bring statistical reporting forms and data collection methods in line with the realities of the time, the introduction of modern methods and digital technologies into the system.

Furthermore, the total volume of natural gas production in Turkmenistan last year amounted to more than 80.61 billion cubic meters.

Meanwhile, Turkmenistan is actively broadening its energy sector, with a focus on the development of the gas industry.

These initiatives merit attention due to the nation's extensive natural gas reserves, encompassing ambitious strategies for the extraction, transportation, and export of this essential energy resource.

According to the Turkmengaz State Concern, the country's hydrocarbon resources are estimated at more than 71 billion tons of oil equivalent, of which more than 20 billion tons are oil and more than 50 trillion cubic meters of natural gas.
