Month-Long Futsal Championship Concludes In Helmand

LASHKARGAH (Pajhwok): A month-long futsal championship concluded in southern Helmand province on Saturday, with Qais Ghani team winning the title.
Sabawon Hashimi team finished runners in the contest named Folad Jam that involved 10 teams.
Provincial Information and Culture director Hafiz Abdul Bari Rashid told Pajhwok Afghan News that the Folad Jam contests started about a month ago between ten teams.
The contests were sponsored by a national trader, Rashid, who urged other businessmen to encourage the athletes and sponsor such events.
A member of the managing committee Seddiqullah Seddiqi told Pajhwok that the event lasted one month and Qais Ghani secured the first position while Sabawon Hashimi won second position.
A number of players described the contests beneficial and called on other youths to spare time to play sports besides their daily activities.
An athlete Abdul Qayoum thanked the Sports Directorate for arranging the contests and asked other youth to indulge in healthy activities
